New KD SCHMID Fellow

We are delighted to welcome 17-year-old Brazilian violinist Guido Sant’Anna to the KD SCHMID Fellowship Scheme. As our first soloist to the programme, Guido will receive comprehensive support and guidance from a dedicated team of managers, assisting him in his early professional endeavours by providing career planning advice and performance opportunities.

Following the signing of conductor Anna Handler to the scheme in September 2022, Guido's addition further strengthens our vision to nurture and promote exceptional emerging artists. Managing Director Karen McDonald says: “KD SCHMID prides itself on identifying promising young talent and we are excited to see how Guido flourishes. Welcome to the KD SCHMID family, Guido!”

Guido rose to international attention last year when he made history as the first South American to win the International Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna. In June 2023 he will make his anticipated German debut with the hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt and Alain Altinoglu at Rheingau Musik Festival, followed by performances in his hometown São Paulo with the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra and Thierry Fischer.

"The opportunity to be a fellow with KD SCHMID in my early professional steps came at a time where I needed it most. I believe that this partnership will prove vital to the development of my career and knowledge of the music industry, and I hope I will be able to learn, progress, and share from it as much as possible."
