The Boston Symphony Orchestra has named Augustin Hadelich as Artist in Residence for the 2025/26 season. Across multiple appearances throughout the season, Hadelich will showcase the full range of his artistry through orchestral performances, recitals, chamber music, and community engagement.
Reflecting on his new role, Hadelich shares:
“I am delighted to be the Artist in Residence with the Boston Symphony Orchestra for the 2025–26 season. I made my debut with the BSO back in 2012 at Tanglewood, and my admiration for the orchestra has grown every collaboration we have had together since then.
I have great respect for Maestro Nelsons and love playing with him. I very much look forward to our week together to mark the beginning of the residency, performing the Adams violin concerto.
The Boston audience and community have always been incredibly welcoming, warm, and appreciative of new ideas. I look forward to continuing to build and explore our musical connections together in this new capacity.”
Augustin Hadelich opens his residency in October 2025 with three performances of John Adams’ Violin Concerto under the direction of Andris Nelsons, followed by a second BSO programme in February 2026 with Thomas Adès, featuring the composer’s own violin concerto subtitled Concentric Paths for violin and orchestra.
In addition to his work with the BSO, Hadelich will perform recital programmes which includes a solo violin programme, collaboration with pianist Orion Weiss, as well as a chamber concert with the Boston Symphony Chamber Players and Marc-André Hamelin.
