Alexandra Dariescu returns to North America

This month, Alexandra Dariescu heads to North America, marking two pivotal debuts. In Canada, she will join forces with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Shi-Yeon Sung, presenting three captivating performances of Ravel's esteemed Piano Concerto in G major on February 16, 17, and 18 at the Orpheum.

Dariescu will then proceed to the United States to collaborate with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra for the Florida premiere of James Lee III's evocative composition, “Shades of Unbroken Dreams”. This poignant piano concerto, crafted specifically for her in 2023, serves as a commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech, in a co-commission with the Detroit Symphony and BBC Philharmonic orchestras. Under the esteemed direction of Mei-Ann Chen, they are set to deliver two remarkable performances on February 24 and 25 at Steinmetz Hall.
