'The Nutcracker and I' celebrates its 7th season with a tour in Europe and China

This December 'The Nutcracker and I', Alexandra Dariescu's acclaimed multimedia recital, completes six years since its world premiere at the Barbican Centre in London, on 19 December 2017 during the 2017/18 season.

An original production involving piano recital, live dance and digital animations, created by Dariescu herself, today on 19 December 2023 sees its Bucharest premiere in Romania, Dariescu's homeland, to mark the anniversary. With 2023/24 being the 7th season running, the production has seen tremendous success throughout the world, with performances taking place in North America, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and Europe in venues such as Wiener Konzerthaus, Centre for Fine Arts Bozar Brussels, Auditorium de Lyon, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Dubai Opera House, City Recital Hall Sydney and Shanghai Grand Theatre.

Performances this month are taking place at the Glasshouse International Centre for Music, Saffron Hall, Muziekcentrum De Bijloke, Stadttheater Herford, Teatrul Național de Operetă și Musical and Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Following the European tour, Dariescu brings the project back to China in the new year with performances in Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts and the Shangyin Opera House in Shanghai.
