With dates in Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan, the orchestra will partner with world-class soloists Mao Fujita and Seong-Jin Cho for two captivating programmes.
For today’s concert, the first in the tour calendar, Andris Nelsons and the GHO will be performing Mendelssohn’s “Melusine” Overture, Schumann’s Piano Concert in a minor with Mao Fujita, and Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony No. 3. This will be followed tomorrow by a programme containing the Overture and Liebestod from Wagner’s "Tristan & Isolde", as well as Bruckner’s 9th Symphony in Taiwan’s National Center for the Arts, Kaohsiung.
Further concerts will take place in Taichung and Taipei, before moving on to South Korea, where the orchestra and Maestro Nelsons will be joined by Seong-Jin Cho for concerts in Seoul and Daegu.
Finally, the orchestra will visit the Tokyo’s iconic Suntory Hall for two concerts, before ending the tour in Sapporo.
