Kazuki Yamada and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on tour

Kazuki Yamada celebrates his premiere tour as the recently appointed Chief Conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Today marks the beginning of their much-anticipated tour across Germany and Switzerland.

This evening, October 19, they will perform at the Konzerthaus Freiburg with the renowned pianist duo Lucas & Arthur Jussen, before travelling to Stuttgart tomorrow, where they will play at the Stuttgart Liederhalle. The tour will then conclude with visits to Tonhalle Zurich, Kultur Casino Bern, Victoria Hall Geneva and Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Luzern.

Performing a variety of spectacular programmes on the tour, Yamada and the CBSO are playing works including Sergej Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1, Camille Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 2, Sergej Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakoff’s "Scheherazade" - Symphonic Suite, as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos No. 10.
