John Storgårds appointed Chief Conductor of Turku Philharmonic Orchestra

John Storgårds has been appointed Chief Conductor of Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. He’ll commence the position from the beginning of 2024/25, and will be closely involved in the construction and inauguration of Turku’s new concert hall Fuuga, scheduled to be completed in spring 2026. You can read the official press release of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra here.

Storgårds will hold the title alongside his existing positions of Chief Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic, Artistic Director of the Lapland Chamber Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra Ottawa.
