This month Augustin Hadelich returns to Australia and New Zealand for a series of exciting projects, starting with four performances of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, under Simony Young. The concerts take place at the Sydney Opera House from 7-10 August.
His return to the orchestra is followed by his debut at the Melbourne Recital Centre on 13 August, where he performs a solo programme of work by Bach, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, David Lang and Ysaÿe.
Hadelich returns then on 18 August to Sydney to lead a chamber music project with musicians of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, with the ensemble going on a region tour to perform, among others, works by Shostakovich and Joseph Bologne de Saint-Georges.
Joining forces with conductor Dima Slobodeniouk, Hadelich then embarks on a tour of New Zealand with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, giving performances of Tchaikovsky's thrilling Violin Concerto around the country. The concerts in Wellington and Auckland take place on 23 and 29 August.
