Tonight Seong-Jin Cho joins the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks (BRSO) at the Isarphilharmonie in Munich for this year’s traditional SZ Benefit Concert. Under the direction of the BRSO’s Chief Conductor, Sir Simon Rattle, they will delight the audience with an all-Brahms programme.
“His playing achieves a natural balance between energy and virtuosity. He is a ‘perfect match’ for Brahms Second Piano Concerto”, the BRSO write. After the interval, the orchestra performs Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 in D major. Listen to the concert live on radio on BR Klassik.
Cho will then continue with the BRSO and Sir Simon Rattle on an extensive tour across Asia. Together they perform in South Korea at Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul, in Japan at Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall and Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, and in Taiwan at the National Theatre & Concert Hall Taipei and the National Taichung Theatre. Cho will perform alternating programmes of Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto as well as Beethoven’s Concert for Piano & orchestra No. 2 while on tour.
Further details and remaining tickets can be found on the BRSO’S official website.
