Jan Lisiecki and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields on tour

The year 2025 starts with a spectacular highlight: January will see the return of the celebrated collaboration between Jan Lisiecki and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Lisiecki had stepped in on very short notice in 2018, touring all of Beethoven’s piano concertos in place of Murray Perahia. "A stellar moment, a stroke of luck, a brilliant concert," the press commented at the time. The entire cycle was later recorded live at the Berlin Konzerthaus and released by Deutsche Grammophon to celebrate the upcoming Beethoven Year. Since then, a special bond has existed between the renowned London orchestra and the young Canadian pianist.

Now, they are once again touring together. Across three different programmes, Lisiecki will perform all of Beethoven’s piano concertos and direct them from the paino, complemented by the Triple Concerto, with renowned cellist Daniel Müller-Schott joining Lisiecki for five of the concerts. Tomo Keller, artistic director of the Academy since 2016, will play the solo violin in the triple concerto and lead the orchestra from the violin.

In an extensive tour across Germany (with a stop in Innsbruck), the Academy will perform 19 concerts in 13 cities, continuing this now long-standing and intensive collaboration. It is not an exaggeration to say that these concerts promise to deliver remarkable musical experiences, if not stellar moments.
