Dima Slobodeniouk steps in to lead Berliner Philharmoniker Concerts

Dima Slobodeniouk will step in on very short notice to conduct the Berliner Philharmoniker this week, replacing the indisposed Kirill Petrenko. He will lead three concerts, starting tomorrow, featuring Edward Elgar’s Violin Concerto in B minor, Op. 61, with Frank Peter Zimmermann as soloist, and Jean Sibelius’s Lemminkäinen Suite, Op. 22.
Slobodeniouk and Zimmermann recently performed the Elgar Violin Concerto together with the Orchestre de Paris, ensuring fresh and close synergy for these performances.
The concerts will take place at the Philharmonie Berlin on Wednesday, January 29 through Friday, January 31, 2025. The performance on Friday will be live-streamed on the Berliner Philharmoniker’s “Digital Concert Hall.”
