Cornelia Schmid named as Honorary President of KD SCHMID as part of leadership transition

After four decades of outstanding leadership as owner and Managing Director of KD SCHMID, Cornelia Schmid has stepped down from her executive management role. We are thrilled to announce Cornelia as our new Honorary President, ensuring her continued, invaluable worldwide presence for the company. We are deeply grateful for Cornelia’s ongoing support and continuing influence on our values.

Following a decade of working alongside Cornelia as Managing Director, Karen McDonald will continue in this role, leading KD SCHMID into this exciting new chapter. Joining Karen as Managing Director based in Berlin is newly-appointed Christoph Drescher, who brings with him over 20 years of experience in the arts and music sector.

Under the joint leadership of Karen and Christoph, KD SCHMID looks forward to further strengthening the close partnership with parent company, Deutsche Klassik, as well as broadening the company’s reach, evidenced by the recent opening of the New York office.
