KD SCHMID is delighted to welcome Josephine (Fifi) Korda for General Management. The young British conductor has been conductor-in-residence at the Opéra de Paris since September 2024, and in 2025 received the Grand Prix of the Neeme Järvi Prize at the Gstaad Festival Conducting Academy.

Recognised for her sensitive and evocative musicianship, Korda is developing a career spanning opera, ballet and symphonic repertoire. Recent and upcoming highlights include her debut at Opera Holland Park with Jonathan Dove’s "Itch", performances with the Northern Ballet ("Romeo and Juliet", "The Nutcracker") and invitations to conduct four Swiss-German orchestras in the 2026/27 season.

A graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, the École Normale de Musique de Paris, and Oxford University, she brings together intellectual depth and artistic vibrancy shaped by her creative family background.

“I am inspired and very thankful to begin a journey of growth within the KD SCHMID family. I will be working together with the wonderful team, building on our warm and trusting relationship – I can’t wait for this new musical odyssey!” Fifi Korda

“KD SCHMID is delighted to embark on this exciting partnership with Fifi. Her joyful approach to music-making, combined with her curiosity and determination, make her a remarkable young talent. We look forward to supporting her artistic development in the years ahead and being part of her bright future.” - Karen McDonald, Managing Director
