Augustin Hadelich: artiste étoile in Lucerne, concerts with the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Wiener Philharmoniker

Big weeks ahead for Augustin Hadelich:  he is artiste étoile at the Lucerne Festival, appears in several concerts with the Berliner Philharmoniker and performs with the Wiener Philharmoniker at the Salzburg Festival.

As artiste étoile, Hadelich gives four very different concerts at the Lucerne Festival. He opens with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under Klaus Mäkelä and Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto. A few days later comes a recital with pianist Seong-Jin Cho, featuring works by Brahms, Janáček, Amy Beach and Prokofiev. He then performs Beethoven's Violin Concerto with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Kirill Petrenko. He closes with the Lucerne Festival Fiddle Night alongside Mark and Maggie O'Connor, an evening spanning folk, country and bluegrass.

His collaboration with the Berliner Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko continues beyond Lucerne, in Edinburgh and at the BBC Proms in London, with Beethoven's Violin Concerto in both cities.

In between, a guest appearance takes him to the Salzburg Festival, where he performs Brahms's Violin Concerto in two concerts with the Wiener Philharmoniker under Christian Thielemann.
