His residency began in October with performances of Shostakovich’s Concerto No. 1 for Piano and Trumpet under Paavo Järvi. Now, Seong-Jin Cho returns to interpret Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, the “Emperor Concerto,” conducted by Jakub Hrůša on March 13, 14, and 15.

The programme also features Janáček’s Schicksal suite, arranged by František Jílek, and Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra. While all concerts are sold out, the final performance will be available via the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Digital Concert Hall.

Cho will reunite with Hrůša and the Berliner Philharmoniker to perform Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto at the Baden-Baden Easter Festival on April 14.
