Alain Altinoglu closes his Ring Cycle at La Monnaie
With the premiere of Götterdämmerung on February 4, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie brings the final part of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen to the stage.
This new production of the complete Ring, performed over the past two seasons under the direction of Music Director Alain Altinoglu, now reaches its conclusion.
Following Romeo Castellucci’s direction of Das Rheingold and Die Walküre, the staging of the final two operas—Siegfried and Götterdämmerung—was entrusted to Pierre Audi.
This production marks the culmination of Altinoglou’s extensive engagement with Wagner’s work and coincides with the recognition of La Monnaie as Best Opera House at the 2025 OPER! Awards.
All performances are sold out, but the opera will be broadcast live on February 23, 2025, via OperaVision, Auvio, Musiq3, and Klara.
