Jazzrausch Bigband

about the special project.

It is no exaggeration to call the JAZZRAUSCH BIGBAND a phenomenon: wherever the musicians perform, they ignite a musical firework of jazz, techno, and classical music captivating audiences all over the world. With works by Bruckner, Brahms, Beethoven and Mahler, there are symphonies to dance to, intelligent original compositions – even ‘Faust’ as a techno audio drama –, raves to tune into! A creative epicentre that joyfully tears down stylistic boundaries.

The music of the JAZZRAUSCH BIGBAND appeals to a broad range of listeners, from club-goers searching for something more authentic, self-made, fresh, and original, to jazz and classical music listeners wanting more oomph, entertainment, big sounds, and a lot of groove.

It all started at the Munich institution Harry Klein, one of the most renowned electro clubs in Europe, that was the impetus for this musical journey. With an average of 80 concerts a year, the JAZZRAUSCH BIGBAND has become one of the most successful big bands in the world. At concerts in Europe, America, Asia, and Africa, they bring jazz and dance fans together with the “power of sound, groove, and an enormous stage presence” (FAZ), like no other current ensemble – groove with brains, electro with power, jazz delight. Successful concerts have taken the JAZZRAUSCH BIGBAND to the Elbphilharmonie, Carnegie Hall, Isarphilharmonie, Konzerthaus Berlin, and the Dresdner Kulturpalast, as well as to festivals such as the Rheingau Musik Festival, Grafenegg Festival, and the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival.

„They validated their reputation as one of the world’s most distinctive and adrenalizing dance outfits. What was shocking, and gloriously refreshing right from the first hammerhead beats of the kickdrum, was that this band swings. Which completely sets them apart from the machines and the would-be cyborgs who man them. If this is the future of EDM, it’s this band’s ODM that’s going to replace it – that’s a big O for Organic.“ – The New York Music Daily about US debut of the Jazzrausch Bigband at the Lincoln Center in NYC.
