Tung-Chieh Chuang becomes new Music Director in Bochum

Taiwan-born conductor Tung-Chieh Chuang will take up the position of Music Director of the Bochum Symphony Orchestra and Director of the Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr at the beginning of the 2021/2022 season. The contract, which has just been signed, will initially run for three years, starting on 1 August 2021.

37-year-old Chuang, who lives in Berlin and first gained international attention in 2015 by winning the Malko Competition in Copenhagen, made his debut in Bochum in April 2018. In October 2020, he can be seen once again as a guest with his future orchestra.
