The BBC Proms have announced their 2022 summer festival programme

We are delighted that Kazuki Yamada, Fabien Gabel and Daniel Lozakovich will make their Proms debuts this year.

Yamada will perform a programme of Glinka, Smyth and Rachmaninoff with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on 25 July ahead of his tenure as Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor of the orchestra commencing in Spring 2023. Gabel and Lozakovich will make a double debut at the festival with the BBC Symphony Orchestra on 25 August, featuring Brahms Violin Concerto, Lalo and Franck.

John Storgårds will return to the Royal Albert Hall for the festival to perform a programme of Kalevi Aho, Kaija Saariaho and Shostakovich on 4 August with the BBC Philharmonic, where he is Chief Guest Conductor.

Having had his Proms debut in 2016, Augustin Hadelich will return with Cristian Măcelaru and WDR Sinfonieorchester on tour, where he will perform Dvořák’s Violin Concerto on 21 August.

Tickets will go on sale Saturday 21 May.
