Opening concerts of the Rheingau Musik Festival 2022

This year, Alain Altinoglu opens his first Rheingau Musik Festival as Music Director of hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt, after commencing the position at the beginning of the 2021/22 season.

Taking the podium at Kloster Eberbach, together with his orchestra and the MDR-Rundfunkchor, they will present Mendelssohn's a rarely performed choral-symphonic work of faith, Symphony No. 2 "Lobgesang". Before this, the programme opens with Antonín Dvořák's symphonic poem "The Golden Spinning Wheel".

The opening concert on Saturday 25 June 2022 will be streamed live at www.hr-sinfonieorchester.de, and available to watch afterwards on-demand.

The concert will also be broadcast live on hr2-kultur from 19:04, and again on Thursday 14 July at 20:04 as part of the ARD Radio Festival. The concert will also be broadcast on Saturday 9 July on 3sat, and Sunday 10 July on hr-television.
