Japanese conductor Nodoka Okisawa has been awarded the Hideo Saito Memorial Fund Award 2023. Since 2002, the Sony Music Foundation has awarded the prize in memory of the outstanding pedagogue and musician Hideo Saito to particularly promising young conductors and cellists. Receiving this prestigious award she joins the ranks of distinguished conductors such as Alan Gilbert, Kazuki Yamada and Kazushi Ono.
As of this month, Nodoka Okisawa is the Principal Conductor of the City of Kyoto Symphony Orchestra. She is in demand as a guest conductor worldwide and lives with her family in Berlin.
