New Signing – Seong-Jin Cho

KD SCHMID is thrilled to welcome the exceptional pianist Seong-Jin Cho to its roster of artists for general management.

With his overwhelming talent and innate musicality Seong-Jin Cho has made his mark as one of the consummate talents of his generation and is considered one of the most distinctive artists on the current music scene.

Seong-Jin Cho works with many of the world’s most respected orchestras and conductors. His 2020/21 season includes numerous wide ranging-highlights, including continued collaborations with the Berliner Philharmoniker, London Symphony Orchestra and New York Philharmonic. As a pianist very much in demand for recitals, he performs in many of the world’s most prestigious concerts halls, including Carnegie Hall, as part of the Keyboard Virtuoso series, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw Hall, as part of the Master Pianists series, Konzerthaus Wien and Suntory Hall.

Seong-Jin Cho was brought to the world’s attention in 2015 when he won the First Prize at the Chopin International Competition in Warsaw. In January 2016, he signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon. The first recording was released in November 2016 featuring Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.1 with the London Symphony Orchestra and Gianandrea Noseda.  Two further albums have followed and all have won impressive critical acclaim worldwide. Today, Friday 8th May 2020, his recording ‘The Wanderer’, featuring Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy and Liszt’s Piano Sonata in Bminor, is released worldwide.

Ute Fesquet, in her role as Consultant at KD SCHMID, will be working in close partnership with the management team and building on her excellent existing relationship with Seong-Jin. We additionally wanted to take this opportunity to give great respect and thanks to Solea Management for the work with Seong-Jin on building his wonderful career to date.
