We are delighted to announce that one of the foremost violinists of our time, Arabella Steinbacher, is joining KD SCHMID for general management.
Steinbacher has been the soloist on many KD SCHMID tours, most recently last November with the BBC Philharmonic and John Storgårds. Managing Director Karen McDonald comments “Over the years, we have enjoyed the opportunities to work together with Arabella on various KD SCHMID projects, including through her many collaborations with our conductors and soloists. We are thrilled to welcome her into the KD SCHMID family as one of our artists.”
Steinbacher’s artistry has been praised repeatedly for its wide palette of timbres, extraordinary sound, and the sheer breadth of her repertoire, which ranges from works by Bach to a brand new commissioning project currently in discussion. Born into a family of musicians, Steinbacher began playing the violin at the age of three, and studied with Ana Chumachenco at the Munich Academy of Music since the age of eight. She performs with world-renowned orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, Orchestre National de France and NHK Symphony Orchestra.
