John Storgårds received the Kaitera Award in Finland

The Pentti Kaitera fund has awarded John Storgårds for his significant work as a promoter of spiritual well-being in Northern Finland. The prize was awarded at the Gala evening of Oulu University on 11 November 2022.

Awarded in recognition of his long-term and tireless work as Artistic Director of the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, in addition to his own significant creative work, the Pentti Kaitera Award honours Storgårds' work championing other northern artists and ensuring the continuation of performing arts and bringing it closer to the wider community.

Storgårds says: "The Pentti Kaitera fund’s recognition award is a great recognition from a well-deserved respected entity that clearly carefully considers its choices. It’s an honour to be among the other, previous years’ prize winners, as well as this year’s awarded colleague [dancer, artistic director Pirjo yli-Maunula]".
