Håkan Hardenberger plays French Trumpet Concertos

Håkan Hardenberger and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Fabien Gabel present five great French works composed between 1944 and 1977.

The recording, released today by BIS Records, includes works by Betsy Jolas, André Jolivet and Florent Schmitt as well as Henri Tomasi’s Trumpet Concerto. Tomasi’s Concerto appears on this disc for the first time with its original, longer ending, which has been revived from a newly discovered manuscript.
