Fazıl Say has been announced as portrait artist of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (SHMF) and will perform a total of 14 concerts in the summer of 2025. In a wide-ranging programme, he will perform as a soloist as well as in chamber music ensembles and with renowned orchestras.
His artistic partners include musicians such as Sabine Meyer, Nicolas Altstaedt, Asya Fateyeva and the Goldmund Quartett. Say will also perform as a soloist with orchestras, including the hr-Sinfonieorchester under the direction of Alain Altinoglu, the NDR Radiophilharmonie under Otto Tausk and the Camerata Salzburg.
A special highlight of the festival will be the world premiere of a mandolin concerto composed by Say especially for Avi Avital.
In addition, five of his six symphonies and other compositions by Fazıl Say will be performed at the festival.
The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival 2025 will take place from 5 July to 31 August.
