Dima Slobodeniouk returns to Tanglewood for two spectacular performances

Following his debut at the Aspen Music Festival And School with violinist Augustin Hadelich last week, conductor Dima Slobodeniouk will make a much-anticipated return to Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO), for two captivating performances this July.

On Monday, 15 July 2024, 8:00 pm, Slobodeniouk will lead the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra (TMC) at the Seiji Ozawa Hall. The programme promises a rich tapestry of orchestral music, featuring Julia Perry's “Study for Orchestra”, Bernstein's “On the Waterfront” as well as Stravinsky's "Symphony of Wind Instruments” and “Symphony in Three Movements”. This performance will see Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra and Conducting Fellows join forces with the Finnish conductor to deliver an evening of dynamic orchestral landscapes.

For the second performance on Friday, 19 July 2024, 8:00 pm, Dima Slobodeniouk will reunite with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the Koussevitzky Music Shed. The programme includes Bernstein's Symphony No. 2 "The Age Of Anxiety", with young virtuoso Conrad Tao as the piano, and Brahms' Symphony No. 3. These concerts are a prelude to Slobodeniouk’s continued collaboration with the BSO, as he is set to return for another series of performances in Boston in April 2025.
