Alain Altinoglu makes Musikverein subscription debut

Following huge critical acclaim for his production of Berlioz’s Les Troyens at the Wiener Staatsoper in October 2018, Alain Altinoglu returns to Vienna once again this week, making his subscription debut at the Musikverein with the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra. The four concerts at the prestigious venue (9, 10, 12 and 13 January) will open with Debussy's Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, before Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov joins the orchestra for Rachmaninov’s fourth piano concerto. The second half of the programme will feature Rimsky-Korsakov’s suite from Le Coq d'Or and closes with Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé Suite No. 2
