Mark Seibert

pop-poetical pearls

What happens when one of the most successful and popular musical theatre performers in the  German-speaking countries combines his fine feeling for music and lyrics with a no less impressive and irrepressible talent as a singer / songwriter? You could probably call the result a great moment and a stroke of luck for all friends of soulful German pop music. And still that doesn’t do justice to what Mark Seibert really delivers here. Rather than just crowd-pleasing radio pop, Seibert's songs are small, glittering pearls full of intimacy and soulful insights into the inner life of his artistic being that has long escaped from the soulless vanities of the glaring spotlight. But they are also an ode to life and love, every note a yearning thought.

Since the mid 2000s Seibert has earned himself a reputation as one of the finest musical actors around. Whether as Tybalt in “Romeo & Julia” at the Raimundtheater in Vienna, as Radames in Elton John's “Aida” in Berlin, Leipzig, Bregenz and Munich, as first cast of Fiyero for the German premiere of “Wicked - The Witches of Oz” in Stuttgart, as Ranger in the musical adaptation of the hit movie “Der Schuh des Manitu” by Michael ‘Bully’ Herbig in Berlin or currently as the premiere cast Edward Lewis in the musical “Pretty Woman” at the Stage Theater on the Elbe in Hamburg: Again and again Seibert thrills his audiences by charmingly sympathetic, completely persuasive role portrayals and over the past 15 years, has garnered a global fan base.

At the beginning of February 2010 his first solo album “Musical Ballads unplugged” was released. After more albums and solo concert series, a best-of album “Mark Seibert - So Far! His greatest musical successes to date!” was released in 2016 with songs from his previous engagements, on which, among other things, already well-known songs were reissued or translated into English. Guest performers include Roberta Valentini, Ana Milva Gomes, Barbara Obermeier and Sabrina Weckerlin.

KD SCHMID is very pleased to have Mark Seibert join as a creative partner and will be offering the artist both as singer / songwriter and in the cross-over segment for future orchestral and chamber music projects worldwide.
