11.10.2017

George Frideric Handel finished his oratorio "Semele" in 1743 within one month. He referred to it as a "musical drama, after the manner of an oratorio". This rarely heard piece with a big singers cast will be performed by the Orchestra and Chorus of the Age of Enlightenment with british singer soloists, directed by Christophe Rousset, French harpsichord player and conductor that is inspired by a passion for opera and the rediscovery of the European musical heritage. Performances will take place in London and Vienna.
