Heartfelt congratulations to three of our artists for winning Grammy Awards 2017. Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble won a Grammy in the category Best World Music Album for their album "Sing Me Home".
Mitsuko Uchida has won a Grammy for her recording of Schumann and Berg songs with Dorothea Röschmann, tied with Ian Bostridge’s Shakespeare Songs.
Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra received the 2017 Grammy Award in the category Best Orchestral Performance last night, for the live recording of Shostakovich Symphonies Nos. 5, 8 & 9, “Under Stalin’s Shadow”. This Deutsche Grammophon recording marks the second consecutive win for the Shostakovich project in this category.

"This prestigious recognition from The Recording Academy, along with last year's Grammy for Best Orchestral Performance for Symphony No. 10, is particularly gratifying as it acknowledges the tremendous commitment of everyone on the team — our exceptional BSO musicians, engineers, and the dedicated staff at the BSO and Deutsche Grammophon, who all believe so deeply in conveying the magnificent and complex beauty of Shostakovich's music, which so powerfully communicates such great depth of emotion.” – Boston Symphony Orchestra Music Director Andris Nelsons
