Dima Slobodeniouk - debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker

01.02.2018

Dima Slobodeniouk makes his debut tonight with the Berliner Philharmoniker. The programme, which is also a tribute to the Finnish-Russian musical heritage of his two home countries, presents Sibelius’ symphonic poem Tapiola, Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 2 and Prokofiev’s rarely heard Symphony No. 2. The soloist is Latvian violinist Baiba Skride, who has built an artistically fruitful friendship with both Slobodeniouk and the Berliner Philharmoniker over the past few years.

Further concerts will follow on 2 and 3 February at the Berlin Philharmonie.
