On 27th May Clemens Schuldt will make his debut with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, conducting a programme entitled “The Calming Sea”: Hope, Optimism and the Promise of New Life. The programme will open with Mendelssohn’s “Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage”, and follow with Gordon Kerry’s flute concerto “Captain Flinders’ Musick”, together with the flautist for whom the work was written, Alison Mitchell. The second half of the programme will feature Wagner’s “Siegfried Idyll” and Schumann’s Symphony No. 1.
