Alain Altinoglu makes his debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra this week, with an all-French programme. Opening with Hector Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture, and French violinist Renaud Capuçon will join as soloist for Edouard Lalo's Symphonie espagnole. The second half of the programme will feature Henri Dutilleux‘s Symphony No. 2, Le Double, which was originaly commissioned by the Koussevitzky Music Foundation for the 75th anniversary of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. To close the programme, the orchestra will perform Albert Roussel's Suite No. 2 from his 1930 ballet Bacchus et Ariane.
