We are pleased to present our commemorative journal on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Konzertdirektion Schmid.
Konzertdirektion Schmid has always been part of my life – at first at very close range when I was a child growing up in the midst of a world of musicians, then later from afar, during my student days and, for over 20 years now, as my professional home. We are still committed to the family tradition which is the foundation of the Konzertdirektion. At the same time, however, we have adapted to new market conditions, created modern management structures and strategically expanded our international network, not least by launching Konzertdirektion Schmid UK in London in 1998. All of this has been achieved by a highly motivated team, of which I am extremely proud. I may say that we are equally well positioned with high-profile domestic and foreign tours, international development of artists’ careers and local representation of leading artists, a variety of PR campaigns and an increasing number of special projects.
I am certain that the current global financial crisis will mean radical changes in the cultural sector as well. However, traditional values such as trust and working together in a spirit of partnership, which have always been fundamental to our operations, will once again be in demand. Therefore, I believe that we can look forward to the next 50 years of Konzertdirektion Schmid with confidence.
