At the age of only 35, Paris-born Alain Altinoglu can already look back on an impressive and successful conducting-career. He is a regular guest at the big opera houses worldwide, such as the Metropolitan Opera New York, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the San Francisco Opera, the Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, the Staatsoper Wien, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Staatsoper unter den Linden, the Bayerische Staatsoper München and all three opera houses in Paris: the Opéra National, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and the Théâtre du Châtelet. He has also appeared at the festivals in Salzburg, Orange and Aix-en-Provence.

From 2007 until 2010 Alain Altinoglu held the position of Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestre National de Montpellier. He has a strong relationship with the Orchestre National de France in Paris. Furthermore, he has already conducted renowned orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Staatskapelle Berlin, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Orchestra della Fenice Venezia, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Ensemble Intercontemporain and the Gulbenkian Orchestra Lisbon.

Future engagements include performances of Simon Boccanegra and Don Giovanni at the Vienna State Opera, The love for three oranges at the Opéra National de Paris, Un ballo en Maschera at the festival in Orange in France, Flying Dutchman at the opera house in Zurich and Werther at the Met. In concert, Alain Altinoglu will conduct orchestras such as  the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Radio-Symphony-Orchester Vienna and Vienna Symphony Orchestra at the prestigious Vienna Musikverein, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, Dresden Staatskapelle, the Radio-Symphony Orchestra Berlin and the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra.  

Particularly interested in the Lied repertoire, as a pianist, Alain Altinoglu regularly accompanies the mezzo-soprano Nora Gubisch. A recording of songs by Henri Duparc was released on the Cascavelle label. A recording of Henryk Gorecki’s third symphony together with the Sinfonia Varsovia was released with Naïve.

Alain Altinoglu studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he also taught as professor of the vocal ensemble class for ten years.
